HI all,
tried to install my spare draw bar( 2 point fast hitch ) and it could not be installed. It would line up OK but not go in both sides at once. Could it be bent? It almost looks like it is curved from left to right, downward in the middle.
Anybody experience this? got a cure? torch work?
thanks in advance

Yes,they can be bent.Commonly one side will not get latched or come unlatched. That puts all the pull on one side, thus bending it.I have also seen drawbars bent in the middle.Ihave no idea, except for abuse....

My 300 RC drawbar is a bit bent down in the center but so far not enough to keep it from latching. It got a bit worse when I was trying to pick up logs last winter that were frozen to each other on the pile. I have had good luck with 3 point hitch drawbars straightening them with a 16 lb sledge. I put them on a pair of logs bent side up and so that the skinny ends are sticking out and not taking the impact. Then I take a full circle swing and hit the drawbar on the high spot and then reposition it and do it again. It will take several whacks but it will straighten it right out, as I have done mine and one that belongs to a neighbor. The FH drawbar is a bit wider but I think it would still be worth a try.

Put it in the sockets with a few little taps with a wooden block and maul. Then go to a near by stump and put a 2X4 hardwood scrap on top of the stump. Backup to the stump and push down with the drawbar. (down pressure pin needs to be in the lower link under the cylinder)
If it bends back with no further force, cool, if not a few whacks with the maul are needed. Heating it will take what temper it has completely out. Jim

(quoted from post at 14:41:32 11/26/13) It depends how hard you hit them, you could be surprised.

I bent the one on my 200 a bit by bolting a blade to it and pushing around some dirt. It has a noticeable upwards bow to it. Still fits in the slots right so I learned my lesson on that.
