Anyone have one of those small screws and lock washer that attaches the choke plate to the rod?
Mine went down the shop drain and the magnet on a string didn't work. :(

IIRC the parts book (at least the online version) gives the size of screw needed. Last time I lost one I was able to find them at Menards; did have to get BHCS to get a short enough length but it worked all the same.

Sorry if this is obvious, but if it"s brass, magnet wonnn"t work. It might still be sitting there in the trap.

Anything I might have would be in the "used" pile, and are in that pile because they aren't fit to be used again. I have found that all too often, the parts that come out of a carburetor are usually better than the new parts that come in the kit.

Couple comments. If the 'replacement' screw is too long-simply cut it off.Remove the trap and dump it out. It's called a 'trap' for a reason! The screw may be sitting there waiting to be 'rescued'.

Number 6 screw is the size with number 32 threads with both a one screw or two hole choke shaft. SM would be 2 screw. Never found the screws less than 1/2 inch long at a hardware. Lowes did have steel ones in a little package and steel lock washers also. If to long shorten them up. 1/4 long will do but IH sometimes used longer screws and put places in the threads sticking through. That keeps screws from coming out and going in the engine.
I usually let them come through the choke shaft just a little then put a little cut place in the thread sticking out in case one comes loose. Just enough to swell the threads on each side of the cut. If I need to remove the screws again I just file the cut place down.

I did cut down a couple 6x32. Actually no "traps" in the shop floor. Just elbows under drain caps (3) in shop.
