What is the part number for the bearing where the front axle rests on the spindle? and the name of a dealer that may carry them? are they a unique item to only IHC

Napa or bearing house should have them.Take the bearing(or the pieces) with you as a sample. They can match/cross it.Or go to Messics.com.They have parts diagrams on line.Or of coarse your local IH dealer....

We nad a hard time geting that one as it is no longer made.If i remember we called around several places finally got one from a place that had obsolete parts. try Joes Farmall Parts in Clarion,Pa he can get one but they wont sell to you or I but he can get one.

Outer race 53565D or 59820D, inner race 55332d, balls D2615. Probably can find balls the same but the rest will be hard to find.

From an old paper parts book (CIH is never going to digitize the parts books for the O-I-W tractors made during the letter-series era, you need a book or fiche.):

Outer race is 59820D(Will work for 53565D)
Pivot balls are D2615 (18 per side)
Inner race is 55332D
Felt washer is 53166D
Pivot bushing is 55335D

According to supercedence books, the balls--pn. D2615 sub to 16012R1. According to a hardware catalog, 16012R1 is a "grade 2", 3/8" chrome steel ball (+/- .00005) and originally came 50 to a package. 16012R1 subs to 17012R1, which is a "grade 1" chrome steel ball (+/- .000025).
According to messicks.com, 17012R1 subs to 87016924 and is priced at about $2.25 each.

Online searches of several obsolete parts warehouses show NO stock of either race. The Parts Depot shows the balls, both 16012R1 and 17012R1 in stock. Comprable balls should be able to be sourced at industrial supply houses as well.

If you would happen to stumble upon a complete new axle (buy a lotto ticket  )--pn. 59812DX (before sn. 1759) or pn. 63189DX (sn. 1759 and after), they did come with the bushings and outer races.

Edited to fix part numbers, got numbers in one race pn. flip-flopped. D'oh.

I have an extra set of aftermarket felt seals made in Canada. I used a set of these on my super 4 and they fit good. New IH seals are no longer avalible.
