Those old ones take the Pioneer type.

Ball or tip will work either way, but they were designed for the tip type.

Yup I agree with Allen. Same as I said on the post below.

We had those on our 856 and used pioneer in it all the time.

You think Allan

Yours is in the second row from the left.

All those in that row will work together.

They are all pioneer or also ISO will work with some.

Yup,as was said, you have the 'old style' IH. The common "Pioneer" will interchange. The 7/8 14 you described is the thread size IH used for years. The most common thread size for hoses are 1/2" pipe thread. There others sizes as well that are used on hoses. When I replaced the couplers on the 706,I had to go to IH,because the 7/8 14 thread was not available elsewhere. Those new couplers have the point, not the ball inside.Thats OK,as everything on the farm is a mix of Pioneer and Old style IH.There are no hook up issues or leaks cause by 'mixing'.

Gary,

Ya don't happen to have four sets of the large IH lever-type receivers do ya?

All my stuff is set up to use with 'em, but the big tractor has ISO.....like to swap 'er out.

Allan

The ball type will work in the IH pointed ones. Under heavy use the ball will beat the point off in the IH. You get a gradual flow restriction to where it no longer works. Not enough in use to worry about it now. Was a problem in the past. Look at some old ones in your collection will see what I mean

Rex Problem with mixing points is they do not have the same gallon per minute flow, which can cause one or other to close or jam shut and stop operating. Should always use same male and female coupler.

Allen, If you are still looking for some lever type couplers I'm sure I have a few sets, E-mail is open. charlieu

When you say 4 sets, do you mean four couplers or four sets?

I should have four sets or eight couplers of the big IH. I switched every thing to ISO when I got the MX tractors.

Yup you pay the postage and they're yours.

Might have a bunch of male tips as well.
