I recently purchased an International 2400 with D179 diesel engine. When I went to buy the tractor, I didn't notice any smoke. I had it in my shop for a few weeks working on re-wiring it, adding new gauges, etc as it needed some minor work. After completing this work, now when I start the tractor, it seems to put out a lot of white smoke which increases with RPM. I don't think any of my wiring would have affected the engine but I am not sure.
Is it possible that the person that sold me the tractor did something to alleviate a smoking problem when I originally looked at the tractor but now it is back?
My research indicates that a white smoke problem could be caused by injector timing. I went to the D179 service manual and that very page is missing in my manual. Does anyone have that page in their manual? I spoke with YesterdaysTractor about it and they are missing that page on their master copy.
Thanks for any help.
