Swartz wide front applications

I found a swartz wide front end from a Super MTA and I want to know if the Swartz is a multi-fit front end? I want to know if it will bolt up to a Farmall H with out many modifications if any at all. Or should I stay away and keep looking for a wide front made specificly for an H. Also what should I be looking for when converting a narrow front to a wide front to make sure I get all the hard to get parts.
Thanks!

An H is 2" narrower so the mounting saddle will not fit the tractor.

The "knees" on an H wide front will also be shorter than one from an M size tractor. This is so the tractor won't run "uphill" so badly.

You could make it fit, but it would not look right on the tractor. It should fit any "M-size" tractor, though.

If a front end is not complete, don't buy it. There's really not much to them, just the knees and spindles, center tube, mounting saddle, and "wishbone" brace. Schwartz parts can still be purchased new from any A & I dealer.

BUT...you may be in luck! I have an SMTA and would kinda like to switch her to wide front. Where you located? Maybe get your money out of it and find one for your H?

(OR...sell your H and get the nicer tractor?)

thanks for the input that is what I thought on the front end. I will keep waiting!
I can't get ride of the tractor my grandfather bought it new in 1948 and my dad and myself rebuilt it we use it all the time it is a great tractor and it has the big bore kit in it and out pulls my dads other H.

Dave email me and We can talk about the front end.

Your email is not open but if mine does not appear in Classic View you should be able to go to Modern View and there should be a button below my post for email. Give it a try, I am almost always here this time of year. :)
