200 Zenith Carb problem

Engine runs wide open upon start up. Pulled carb and
discovered throttle plate completely missing. Does anyone
have ideas how/what would cause? Also need throttle plate
for zenith carb model #11115

If you have owned that for a long time about the only way that could happen is if the screw broke some how and then it got sucked up into the intake manifold and it could well still be up there some place which would not be good

Talk to previous owner; ask if there is a round disc about 1 1/2" diameter laying on the shop bench where the carb was overhauled??

Either the last person to take the carburetor apart didn't reinstall it, or the screws weren't tightened properly and backed out from vibration.

The throttle plate will be lodged in the intake manifold somewhere, probably causing the tractor to run poorly. It is pretty obvious that the tractor is not running right. Normally it should sound smooth like a sewing machine, not rough like a Harley Davidson.

If I had a nickel for every time I've heard someone crow about how smooth and powerful their Farmall was when you could clearly tell it was missing on at least one cylinder, I'd be a rich man.

Thank you for the quick response. I have owned the tractor for several years with no issues. Only recently did I have a problem I.e. engine running wide open with no throttle response. Stub of the screws are still in the throttle arm so plate clearly was in a bind and broke off. I will pull the intake manifold and see if I can find. One cylinder not firing so I expect that is the issue. Thank you
