Take my advise...DO NOT re-use a used TA!If you do,you will do the job all over the 2nd time.If you cant afford a new TA the first time, you cant afford to do it twice....An old IH shop manager once told me:"Those farmers are too tight to spend $5(" I cant afford it,too much money") on a new rain cap,but they will spend $5000 on a new engine."Pretty accuret statment.

As already posted the complete center housing or a complete T/A won't interchange. Though all parts in the picture of a 460 one will interchange with a SMTA except numbers, 1,2 and 6. Wouldn't recommend going to the work to install one without going through the unit to inspect or repair.
Most have already been replaced, but once in a great while a original SMTA unit with pre production change parts is found just in case you have one. Bearing number 15 is wider on those and number 14 washer wasn't used.

The complete unit will not interchange, and as others have said it is not worth putting a used one in without disassembling it and replacing whatever it needs. A new or rebuilt TA is pricey but if your capable of doing it yourself it doesn't cost near as much. I replaced my overrun clutch, sun gear shafts and needles, all the seals, and three bearings in mine last week and I had less than $200 in it. So, in my opinion, you should rebuild yours because than you know what you have and you don't have to worry about it flying apart on you right away.
