1086 oil leak

I bought a used 1086 last fall and seems to be a good solid tractor however it is leaking hytran and I cannot find the leak. I thought at first it was leaking out of the hydraulic couplers but am rethinking that every thing is dry above the pto. It congregates on the iron strap that holds up the drawbar and drips off of there. It is damp below the pto housing but I see no drip line. Any potential leak areas in this area? It is making a mess.

pto shaft seal, pto housing to rear end,check good on each of the three point hitch arms there is a seal and o-ring in each end of the draft torsion bar

I wondered if the draft torsion bar was able to leak. Didn't know if it had access to the transmission. Is this a common leak on these tractors?

torsion bar has 3 o rings to seal the trans oil in. they are getting to the age now where they start leaking. also the pto seals to the rear frame with a regular paper gasket.

best bet is to pressure wash the area and see where the first seepage appears.

Will changing these o-rings or pto gasket require draining the transmission, if that is the problem?

yes to both, and although it might be possible to leave the pto in place, you'll want to remove it to replace the o rings.
