384 International glow plugs

When I put the ignition switch on heat there is too much power going to the glow plugs and resistor. It turns the wires between the glow plugs red. Any suggestions??

Hi JJ, did this problem start all of a sudden?
Does the copper wire on the glow plug closest to the rad get red hot as well? I suspect that one of the glow plugs has shorted to the engine block and it is usually the one where the wire does not get hot on the rad side.

If you have to change one change them all and there are better glow plugs kits available for Mercedes cars that work on BD-154.
