Farmall 240 Tractor

There is a Farmall 240 ,which is the row crop version, and an International 240, which is the utility version. Both were made between 1958 & 1962. About twice as many Internationals made as Farmalls.

(quoted from post at 08:12:50 05/21/14) Did Farmall make a 240 tractor & a 240 Utility tractor or are they the one and the same thing ?

Ya' gotta' wonder if IH had made the C thru 230 in a utility version, how it would have fared against the 8N Fords made during the same timeframe, especially after the Fast Hitch was made. I'm thinking an "International" Super C Utility w/Fast Hitch would have surely cut deep into the 8N sales.

IH made two main versions of the 240:

1. Farmall 240
2. International 240 Utility

The two tractors share many of the same parts but they are not "one in the same." They share the same engine, platform, and transmission. The main differences are in the axles, wheels, tires, and steering mechanism.
