Guys I have an H stuck real bad on all 4. I didn"t light it up yet! but I think that the only way I will get the sleeves and pistons out. Neighbor gave me a doner set of 3 7/16 pistons rings and rods form a 300, with new 3 7/16 sleeves will the rods interchange with and H crank or do I need to use the H rods with new bearings and bush the pins? oldiron29

H through 350 engines used two crankshaft rod and main sizes and one size on the rod big end. Just match the bearings to the crankshaft size. Example rods from a 300 on a small journal H crank use H bearings that are sized for the crankshaft. Two rods were used H, SH, and part of the 300 with piston pin size being the difference between them and later 300 and all 350 engines. Big came on part of the 300 engines until a serial # break and small pin after.
Big pin rods can be used with small pin pistons using pin adapter bushings. Small pin rods won't work with big pin pistons.
If the 300 had 3-7/16 sleeves in it the block must be a H. 3-7/16 ID sleeves won't work in a C-169 300 block.
Should be 3.5 or 3-9/16 ID sleeves on a 300.
Messed up, C-169 would have 3-9/16 or 3-5/8 ID sleeves. Other I posted is a C-164 SH size.

D, When I get it apart I will post what I can save or not. I burned it today about 1/4" gas in each cylinder, about 5 mins. I may have to do more if that don"t free it.
