Hello all,
I'm usually in the Case and JD forums, but in the past have been in here posting (I'm always reading). I posted about this dilemma several years back. My grandfather had a Farmall M that I loved, and was left to my uncle when he passed, and when he got it there was a hole punched through the bottom of the tranny casing due to ice one winter way back in 1993. He ended up having a new rear end put in, and last I knew the tractor was still in his possession. I have tried to contact him to ask about the tractor, but have had no response to any attempts over several years. I have spent some time trying to identify the type of loader that is/was on the tractor. Anyways, I am always searching Craigslist for tractors just to see what is out there - even though I have no room, and I stumbled upon another M with the same type of loader. I have only seen this exact type of loader a couple times - it looks similar to the Stanhoist setup, but the hydraulic cylinders are different (longer), and the rear brackets are made from C-channel instead of large angle iron. Enclosed are a couple pictures I have of the CL tractor, and a final three I have of Grandpa's (with me in my footie PJ's in 1990 and my uncle plowing snow in 2000). Any help in identifying the type of loader would be greatly appreciated. I know at one time there was a Farmhand sticker that was on the loader my grandpa had, but am not sure if this was the manufacturer. If you look closely at the second to last picture you can barely see the yellow "farmhand" label on the upper loader frame tube. I even looked over the loader for markings/serial numbers and had found nothing.
