I"m restoring the "51 H, and hope to stay out of the governor, as I know little about them and I think it works OK. I"ve removed the carb, curved lever linkage and oil port tubing(small top plate)from the governor. My question is, can I unbolt the governor housing from the front plate on the block without getting things out of whack. This will allow me to clean and paint between the governor and engine block. Looks like 2 bolts should do it.......will it be easy to bolt back on without any problems ? Any help from you experts will be appreciated........thanks !
