Large Frame Hydros-Differances

I have the chance at a Farmall 1026 Hydro my buddy took on trade. We had a 656 Hydro back in the day, so I am familar with the small machines. I really dont need 110 PTO HP on the round baler, but I think the price is right on this one so no need to keep looking for an 85 HP tractor. What are the differances in the large frame machines? Did they have diff locks? This tractor has a cab on it. Are they rattle boxes that need to come off?

Diff lock would be rare if it has one. Most likely added after the fact using parts from the 66 series tractors, where diff lock was first offered.

Cab comfort depends on the cab. If it's a Hiniker or Year-A-Round, its tolerable, especially if it has A/C and a good interior. If it's a "diamond cab" it's a rattle trap.

Ok, thanks for the info. Really got to liking the diff lock on my little 685. Might not need it as much since I wouldn't be maxing this tractor out...
Is this tractor the same basic frame size as a 966?
