Eloectric start on F-30

Hi folks,

I'm normally on the ford board, but . . .

Friend of mine says he's seen an F-30 with an electric starter. Somehow it was attached to the PTO. Was the F-30 ever factory equipped with electric start? I'm thinking not, but really don't know. Weren't some of the early H's crank start even?

Necessity is the mother of invention, i have seen starter's put on the F- series, but the most interesting to me ,when they put a ring gear on the steel belt pulley, and start it that way, Seen that i think it was on a w-40.

(quoted from post at 06:17:48 10/01/14) No, the factory never installed an electric start on the F30. Heisler made a package for converting to electric start that was sometimes installed by a dealer before a tractor was sold.

Heisler only made a starter setup for the 20 and the Regular.

no aftermarket starter was made for a 30. There was a machine shop in Indiana that made a starter setup similar tot he heisler style for a 30 but they were pretty much a one off deal

Not even on the 39 models? I've seen some 1939 F series tractors with factor starter set ups. I've seen an F14 and W40 that were set up that way.

This was at Lima Ohio Redpower Roundup
