The exhaust manifold has a pipe threaded into it.The threads are ruined so the pipe/muffler wobbles around. It does look like the exhaust out-let is flanged. Was there an flanged exhaust pipe made for these? Or should I just braze the pipe into place and call it good?

Borrow a thread tap from a plumber friend & re-thread the manifold. 2" perhaps?? Take the old pipe for a sample.

Just do like other post says chase the threads and get a new pipe. If you weld it then hit the muffler you can break the manifold. You will need some wd-40 or something to help the pipe tap but it can be done.

If you can't find a 2" pipe tap, you can take a piece of the same size pipe, like a short nipple and cut across the threads with a hacksaw, perpendicular to threads, in about 4 places. Use thread cutting lube and thread it into your manifold. I did this on a SMTA with similar problem. Take some time and thread it in until it gets real tight, then back out a ways, work it in and out that way and keep working deeper each time

Down turned exhaust used the flanged pipe with a gasket between flange and manifold. Same manifold as a row crop. May have to make your own flange and weld a pipe to it for a vertical bolt on exhaust.

I worked on it this morning for awhile and got enough threads to catch to hold the pipe upright. I also shortened the muffler 4" so the tractor will fit into the garage.
