farmall 460 hydraulics

Installing a FH on my 460.Using the hydraulic block for the FH from another 460 since all (3) of mine were double acting with the drawbar.

Put all back together and the block for the FH (far left block) does not seem to have pressure. When I move the other (2) handles you feel the pressure and feel them working properly (if an implement was attached).

There is oil coming from it to the rear, I did check that.

The only other thing I did different was on the middle block. The block that feeds quik-connects to the left. I removed and put plugs in the top since I will never need (4) quik-connects. By doing this, did I change or alter anything keeping FH block from working or is the left block just needing re-built?

Any help is appreciated - Thanks

All fast hitch valves were double acting until you got to the 06 series. The 2 remote valves could be set for either one way or two way pressure by turning the knob on the valves between the clutch and brakes. If the tractor had 3 valves with no FH the third valve was adjustable between single or double pressure as well.

I don't know what the issue is with yours but you can remove that valve you added and just hook to one of the others and have two way pressure on the original valves or one way depending on how you set the knob below the console. All three of my tractors with FH (300, 460, 560) have 2 way pressure on the hitch and always have since new.

Not sure I totally understand what you did... did you change to complete valve assembly from a F-H tractor or just add the third valve to the existing stack? I'm not familiar with how the third valve was added to a system, whether or not the other two had to be of a certain configuration (like "pressure beyond")for the third to be added for F-H, but it's a possibility. I recall Dad's 460 having a "button" in the end of the handle on the F-H valve, so it was not like the other two.

my 460 had 3 double-acting blocks with a drawbar. I have all the hyd. Blocks from the same 460 that I got the fast hitch from. I replaced the far left block with the far left block from the scrap 460. The scrap 460 block has the tele-depth arm that the tele-depth hooks to. This block does not have the ability or adjustment on the end of it to go from single acting to double acting.

Looking more this afternoon, i looked and activated the other hyd. Blocks and they all have tension on them and you can hear them making the plunging sound. The tele-depth block will move very freely with now tension or any sound.

I believe this is a problem (spring maybe) with the tele-depth block

Thoughts?

Tele-depth valves are different. The lever is connected to one side of the valve and linkage from the cylinder is connected to the other side. Inside the valve there are 3 little gears that moves the spool valve. I have seen the teeth broken off from these little gears more than once. That's maybe why you are not feeling any spring tension. Keep us posted..

Could be as Charlieu says, or it might still be that you should have changed the entire valve assembly, not just the F-H block. There may be other considerations in the other blocks to allow for the 3rd block to be for a F-H. Just thinking of possibilities from my 25 years in a hydraulics engineering test lab. Cessna built pumps for these, but not the valves.

I have a 560 in my shop that has a tele-depth system. I'm attaching a few pictures of the linkage that goes from the control valve to the hitch cylinder. I was going to look for a valve with the little gear teeth that are broke but I ran out of time today. Had to move a couple large snow drifts from my driveway first.
