Super h- 350

My neighbor is a long time IH mechanic and has helped neighbors keep equipment in good working condition for decades. He retired from farming a couple of years ago but still is willing to help out with advice and an occasional small project. He is working on putting together the mythical super h ta. Most of the major work is done but he's looking for a shield that goes under the casting below the radiator. It has a hole for the radiator drain pipe. Does anyone have one to sell or copy?

Considering that there were around 500,000 H's, Super H,s 300's and 350's built combined, that part should be easy to find at just about any tractor salvage yard.

Bates Corp shows reproduction ones. Make sure the friend is sitting down when looking at the price though. Other aftermarket places probably have them if they do. They probably get them from someone else.
Guess friend is using the SH or later H frame rails. If so one from SH down to part of the H tractors is needed.

(quoted from post at 06:48:42 02/12/15) I believe that this part was commonly removed by farmers.

I don't think it was intentionally removed. Most likely the bolts loosened up and it fell off and got incorporated into the soil.

I have seen an H-TA at a tractor show up in Washington State. Thought it was a garage creation, but I think I read in redpower that IH truly made a few of them. It had a Sale sign on it, believe the price was $10,000.

michalr, IH made 3 pro to-type units for Testing and R&D, After all the R&D work, IH Destroyed all 3 units, The SH-TA was Never put into production, the closest they got to it was the 300 number series! All SH-TA that you see today are simply 300/350 rear ends coupled up to a SH front-end!
Most are don very nicely, But the 3 pro to-types were very, very crude units. There are a few pic of them out there. Hope this helps!

Technically they were H-TAs as well because the IH creations were not built using a SH platform.

The only factory ones were high crops. lol

I have one of the HTA's I built it with every option I could find -- 3 pt-tach-live pto-live power-power steering-torque amplifier-the tach is probably the thing that most hta;s have left out - and it is for sale Roy

Someone needs to build one like that with a
continental diesel out of a 350 D and then it
could be a Super HDV-TA, LOL, that would be a
rare bird.

The continental Ds are a little hard to find engine- if a 350D gets bad block the price to find new block alone is about the same as a decent running used engine from a SH or 300 and is basic bolt in fit. As others noted most of the shown SH-TA are 300/350 drive trains/rears with SH fronts- and the 350D is a economic donor with broken blocks and or cranks with bearing needing line bores. RN
