Look to the left side of this 'page'.There is a SN listing for you to look it up. Most Super Ms were made in '53.A very small few were made in late 52.In 54 they became the SMTA.Somewhere around 60,000 SM tractors were made.

I was told its a 1952 so does it have any value over a regular m and does anyone know how many were made in 1952, thank you.I was also told not to pull start it could bend push rods I know nothing about these kinda tractors just thought it would be good to ad to my collection.Hasnt ran in 3 yrs but motor isn't stuck, and gas tank is clean does have diesel in it and antifreeze in radiator.needs rear tires.

No it does not have more "value" than any other M/SM.Not unless it's a 'special' model. ie: hicrop Cotton picker......IMHO,these days an M is an M.It's "value" is more in it's condition than it'sYear.350 to 400 thousand M/SM/SMTA(SMTA Diesel is an exception for being "valuable".) tractors were built from '39 to 54.Yes you can pull start them.I just pulled one last week.....

Massive lower end! OH kits are EXPENCIVE..If you can find them.I have a 52 MD that needs an OH(Motor was stuck).Would love to get that one running.

I have overhauled two of these and had no problem getting parts other than cost. Feel free to email me if you would like.

5000 + were built. Probably not many in 52 because there was only built about 6 months in 52. For some reason only one or none was built in the last 4 months of 52.
Without knowing it will run okay I wouldn't go over a $1000 for a stage one with bad tires and no extras. Just my opinion though. Its a gamble, if it happens to run good it would be worth twice that or more.
Tractor was built in August 52.
Wouldn't hurt to remove the valve cover and check for stuck starting valves and the other valves before rolling the engine. Puts some lube in the top end at the same time.
If you get it a operators manual will tell you adjustments, bleeding fuel system, valve settings and operating info.

well I backed out on the deal called him and told him not running and no rear tires couldn't do it and wife wasn't happy either. But it was a good looking tractor.
