Seeking info on a Cub Lowboy

My neighbor is restoring a 1964 Cub Lowboy that came with the property when he bought it.

After sandblasting, he found a brass plate riveted to the front casting below the steering box. It's oval with "National Distillers" stamped on it and numbers below.

We're assuming they owned a fleet used for mowing the grounds or towing wagons around the distillery, etc. Anybody have any ideas?

The dealer told him they used to be made in Louisville KY. That true?

Thanks,

It is pretty common for companies (particularly large companies) to add their own ID numbers to equipment. Some just stencil a number on, others use tags of some sort. Some only tag their "fleet" equipment that requires some sort of scheduled maintenance. Others tag everything. A company I worked for put adhesive "asset tags" on almost everything that cost over a specified amount and was expected to last more than a year. Finding an old tag on something is essentially a curiosity, tells you something about its history.

Cub Lo-Boys were built in Louisville.
