think I am gonna go with a "car hauler" type trailer. GVWR 7000lbs. should be plenty for my needs.

comments please.

thanks.

My 7000 lb two axle was made in 1988, and is now modernized- with 4 brakes, breakaway kit, and a heavy coat of bright yellow rustoleum.... so we might retire it for a newer one in another 27 years....
But really, I am looking at a 8x21 foot 12k, only because I accidently bought a few things that don't fit well on the 7 k one. I made a promise to myself years ago to never buy anything that wouldn't fit on the trailer... in general I kept to it. You can put a lot of stuff in a 6&1/2 by 16 foot spot, and the load cap is 5700 with a toolbox, spare, chains etc, so you will be surprised and happy with yours...

I have a 18' car hauler with a pair of 3500lb axles underneath. Tows great, it is amazing just how much stuff you can fit on the deck. 2 quads and a ferguson with a Bush hog fit for a 600 mile trip. 2 TE20s just fit, with some careful strapping. Certain Ferguson Implements don't fit nicely though, have to be blocked up above the fenders, notably the side delivery rake.
Bought mine new from SWS trailers. Not sure who made it, the only 2 complaints are the paint, which after 2 years is almost half gone, and the ramp holding system which allow the ramps to escape.

Make sure you get 4 wheel brakes. I converted mine too, and got another with a 12000 Lbs capacity.
another thing, steel decks outlast wood, but dont have much traction for steel tracks.

Mine is 16'. Wish mine had a beaver tail, I never had a BT but think I will if I ever change. I only use LED lights on any of my trailers. Hopefully it has a C channel tongue not a box tongue. Good Luck.

3" X 5" ANGLE FRAME 77" WIDE DECK

Depends on what you are going to haul
I personally would look for one with channel, not angle frame
You will soon find that 77" deck may be too narrow for a tractor
Check the cross members. I'd look for 16" on center, not 24"

I will, in all likely hood, never haul anything larger than my TO-35's. nor will I let any one borrow it except for my son and he has easy access to larger trailers if he needs.
