my 1957 still had the two button hood lock down.
when ever they came out with the one post screw type lock down it was none too soon,
as my two button lock down allows the small hood to rattle, a real pain in the butt.

over the years I have tried numerous things to stop the rattling, one time I counted just how many different parts it took to make that hood work, around 11 or 13 what a waste.
when only one screw solved the problem and no rattle.

I have a couple of parts books but neither break down by ser no. the grill nuts are a ongoing project. I kinda lost interest when somebody said I would have to "flare" the nuts to make them work. also one of the hood studs is broken off. I may just have the grill tacked on.

They are hollowed and flared on back side to stay with the grille, wouldn't have to be but might vibrate loose and disappear. They are 1/4" 20 thread so you could drill out broken one and weld a piece of bolt in from the back side. I might part with the original ones from mine as I doubt if I'll restore another. I just wanted them new as the rest of tractor is same as!
