TO-20 ford 9N

I don't think they will directly. If you have a Ferguson parts book it may show what parts are the same. You can go to the n tractor site and look at their manuals there.

Trans from the 9n will not just bolt up to the TO20 engine.
Hydraulics should work in your TO20 from the 9n. Since it was Harry's design the hydraulics are basically the same. Putting the 9n pump in a TO30 may require a little bit of filing.

9N/TO parts:
I have a situation here where some "mechanic" (note use of quote marks) had replaced the TE20 rear axle bearing retaindner with a 9N bearing retainer.

The TE20 (same as TO20) rear axle bearing retainer is nearly IDENTICLE (i said nearly) to the TE20. It will bolt up just fine but does NOT work because 9N is some 3/16" longer. Which causes excessive axle endplay and therefore tears out the outer axle seals in short order.

And no, don't start telling me about the so-called "Sure Seals". THAT is another whole story in itself that apparently the former "mechanic" (note use of quote marks) tried too.

BOTTOMLINE:
I don't what parts are or are not interchangeable between Ford and Fergy, but better be REAL CAREFUL in trying to do so.

I think you got the wrong thread on Sure Seals. I did a set on the wife's TO-20 and that was several years ago with no problems
