Z-129 stamped letters

I'm overhauling a Z-129 out of my TO30 - the other thread about 'have you seen this' makes me thankful that this block shows no such cracking -

but, I do detect some red paint under the gray, and covered by the oil pan are these figures stamped into the block -

I'm wondering if anyone knows the significance of these?

I thinking perhaps this was a replacement engine at some point?

Is there any definitive way to tell?

Thanks

glyptal red.....Is / was used on castings for an several of reasons, some are:

To make a smooth finish so as lubrication shall drain back to the Oil Sump more readily:

In case there is foreign material left in the casting that is loose and may come dislodged...GLYPTAL hold said foreign material in place:

etc etc..
