53 to30 sudden electrical no start

Hello
Used the ferg few days ago no issues, then went to used and nothing, hit starter and just nothing. Thought maybe the pos battery to starter button looked kinda rough so replaced and still nothing.
Even if i touch pos cable directly to starter i get nothing.
I see no frayed or loose wires. Cant seem to see how suddenly lost ground?
Thanks

12V neg ground. Do you still have the original ground behind the dash? You might need to also clean the ground connection. I usually also
drop a bit of oil or grease on it to stop future corrosion.

Ya sorry forgot to include 12v system.
Yes ground behind dash.
The wire from start button to starter is about 1/2" thick and needs new ends. What gauage is actually needed for 12v system?

"but if i run a seperate ground wire right to starter then it will.work. cant see were i lost ground"

You obviously lost ground somewhere between where cable is presently connected and the starter.

If it is grounded to a piece of sheet metal that goes through several bolt connections that get corroded and rusty that explains it.

Get a long enough cable and ground it near the starter. Might as well save yourself a lot of grief and do a long term fix.

Generally bigger is better. That 6V cable is more than sufficient for a ground cable. Try cleaning the ends. If you desire to add another
cable, the smaller automotive gauge should work just fine.

Guess i put too much thought into its suddeness, cleaned connections and added an extra ground and works again
Thanks guys
