The starter solenoid on our tractor completes the solenoid circuit by grounding the solenoid with the push button switch top of the transmission. We will order the correct solenoid from our host. Is there a way to use a regular solenoid like used on a 1974 ford F 100 work until we get a new solenoid?

If the old solenoid has gone bad to get by you can jump across the 2 big terminals with a heavy piece of wore to start it up. Be 1000% sure it is out of gear. Turn the ignition and then jump across the terminals and it should start right up. But also any good auto parts store can get you the correct one and if you need I am sure I can get you the part Number

Old,

Was helping my friend with his ford diesel tractor The starter was jammed in the ring gear. I had an extra Bendix from my ford jubilee which was the same as his Bendix. I did jump across the solenoid terminals and we got it started.
Thanks,
Chris
