I have. 1964 Ford 2000 tractor that has been giving me problems for about a week. It will run but idles very rough. I have changed out points, condenser, distributor cap, rotor, plugs and wires. Have also drained the tank cleaned the carb. It sounds like a very bad misfire but I am getting very good spark with all plugs removed. I do have a video of it running if anyone can help.

howdy all first timer here sorry for the intrusion.
I recently purchased a ford dexta thinking 65 or 66. If I read the right code it says it's a 1966. It was built in Basildon, England. I will be restoring her back to her former glory. I would like to know as much as I can and where to get the right manuals, etc. I already started off wrong by buying a 4dlt battery but it's a 17tf because it's a 3 cyclinder gas. Also would like to find a list of England's serial numbers because here in the states all I can seem to find are the American made numbers. I will try to post some pictures of my new baby.

There are no documented breakdown of serial numbers by year for tractors assembled at the Basildon UK or Antwerp Belgium plants as far as I know. The Basildon plant actually had two running ranges of serial numbers, one for tractors built for the "Export" market and one for those built for the "Domestic" market. I believe that "Domestic" meant just in the UK, but it may have meant all of Europe, I can't say for sure. The only documentation I know of is from a Service manual page that someone sent me showing the starting serial numbers for the European plants when the "New" models came out on 4/1/68.

Basildon Export - B085752
Basildon Domestic - B851054
Antwerp - A168001

I believe that the numbers below were the the first 1965 serial numbers for the European plants, but I may be mistaken:

Basildon Export - B000001
Basildon Domestic - B800001
Antwerp - A000001 (may have been A100001)

Thank you for the information. I'm still waiting on my cd that
has 2000-7000 on it so I can start diving deeper into the
tractor. I took the Holley carb off and have it soaking so I can
get some numbers off it to get the rebuild kit. I also corrected
the battery issue thankfully Interstate had a 17tfvhd in stock
and I didn't have to drive very far to correct the issue.
I still have my eyes out for a 772 loader ( or comparable lift
capacity of at least 2500# ) with everything needed to make it
run and backhoe with subframe and everything to make it run.
All that will be in time except the loader that is more of a need
main concern is to get those horses running so I can
sandblast paint and get it ready for some work in the late fall
and winter.
Once again thank you so much for the information drone what
you have given me would place it around 1966 like the date
code says. Still need to figure out how different or similar the
ford dexta is to the 2000 I'm thinking very similar if not same
just different decals. I would assume they built around the
engine which is a LG172179 f16.
