Ford 600 engine bolts

Putting my engine on a stand from hoist. I bought 7/16 bolts but they didn't have grade 5 or 8. Busted one of them going in, then drill bit then easy out. How can I drill out easy out and remains of bit. Nothing to weld to either? What is best bit to buy, titanium? Or ???

I think this hole not used to mount or at least was not and buggered threads. I could just leave. I think I had two 7/16 bolts at 11 and 1 and then 4 big bolts, maybe 9/16. How many should mount engine to trans? Thanks

You would need to mill those broken pieces out with the block mounted on the milling machine's table. Best way is to blow them out with a torch. There is so much surface area that they will melt out before surrounding metal gets warm. You can use a Heli-coil to replace the bad threads.

This is one of the 7/16" bolts at about 7 o'clock when looking at the back of the engine. It was not being used when we took the engine off.....I'm not sure if it should have been used. I just wanted to use that bolt hole to mount the engine on the stand. Right now I've only got 3 bolts holding the engine on the stand but it seems ok. I could maybe not worry about it (since it wasn't being used), but I'd like to do it right.

You can use a dremmel with a small grinding bit. Just have to hold it tight and steady so it doesn't jump and grind the threads.
