Ford 600 - how many engine to trans bolts?

I was asking about the broke 7/16 bolt on the engine when I was mounting the 132 CI engine to the engine stand.

Maybe I should just skip removing it from the block as it may be more trouble than it's worth to get out and the engine mounts on 3 bolts with no issue on the stand.

How many bolts are required between the engine and trans when putting the tractor together?

I have 2 bolts at like 11 and 1 o'clock. These are 7/16.

I have 4 large bolts, like 9/16. 2 on each side and of these 2, one is to the block and one is to the stiffner plate between the engine and transmission. There were no bolts in the additional 7/16 holes when I took it apart....should there be? These are at like 5 and 7 o'clock? I'd use them if there and tapped. I can use the one side that doesn't have the broken bolt. Please advise....maybe working for days on one broken bolt isn't really time well spent. Thanks, moday

That one bolt probably holds the plate to the tranny so that if you back over a big rock or something it wont bend the plate. I would at least seal it with sillycone to keep moisture from being drawn into the housing. Those big bolts do most of the holding. There are also 2 bolts at the very top. The one near your exhaust pipe usually has a tailpipe clamp attached to it. It will do just fine with the one bolt out. You could always try to catch a guy with torches on his truck but make sure he knows his stuff

Always get all your bolts started before you tighten any as that plate has a little back and forth wiggle room to let you start them.
