1967 4000 want lift weight

I replaced the hydro pump and all seals. Will lift with
nothing hooked to it but want even try to lift a 6?
harrow. Please somebody help.

Forgot to mention new relief valve on piston
housing. I am not very familiar with this system.
How can I check the unload valve. Where is it
located. I am bout to pull my hair out over this. I am
running out of money. Lol

Why did you replace the pump? There is only one seal in the pump! $60 will by a complete overhaul kit for the pump !More specific information as to why you are repairing and what , specifically was replaced. Did you bleed the system?

When I bought tractor it hiccuped with load behind me t. Always up and down. Would not pick up heavy weight. Then when system got hit say mowing 3-4 hours it would not lift at all unless WOT. Then nothing at all. Figured it was pump. Now not so much. I am thinking maybe I ring on unloader valve but can?t seem to find the specific o ring.

Headingfool82, It appears that you would do better getting what you want to across, if you were to proof read your posts before hitting the submit button.

New relief valve does not necessarily mean good relief valve. Check it out with a 3000 psi gauge. That should also tell you little about your unloader valve if you watch it closely as you move the quadrant lever.

Not totally acquainted with a 3 cylinder 4000, but believe the pump is under the fuel tank with the bleed plug (3/8s pipe) hard but necessary to get to. Remove the plug and bleed the pump or verify it is pumping oil.

Wayne, the pump is only located there on a 3 cylinder 4000 if it has a S-O-S transmission. Otherwise the pump in in the right side of the rear axle center housing. Only bleed point on those is the test port in the blocking plated on the top cover.

Thanks for the correction Sean. Evidently that must have been a 3000 3 cylinder that past through my doors back about 3-4 years ago. I remember the pump under the fuel tank and it was not a S-O-S

Yes, the 3 cylinder 2000 and 3000 series models all had the pump on the side of the engine below the fuel tank regardless of which transmission they had. The only exception there is the 3550 industrial, which had the same rear axle as the 4000 series, so if a 3550 had a 3 point then it would have the pump in the same location as the 4000 series models.

I didn't see where you mentioned that you had replaced the O ring/s on the lift piston????

To see if the piston seals are leaking, remove the lift section fill plug and look at the open end of the ram cylinder. If oil is pouring out when under load and trying to lift the seals are bad and have to be replaced.

So I pulled the unloader valve. Everything looked good. Replaced the metal type ring on valve with the new o ring I got from local NH dealer. Went to reinstall and seemed as tho the o ring is to thick. It shaved some of the o ring off. My question is how freely is the valve supposed to move.
