looking for hydraulic control valve assembly

have a 4400 tractor that has a new hydraulic pump and seals
and now needs a control valve assembly after 4 hours of use. Was this an oversight by dealer. How much should a control assembly
cost.

Is this control valve for a loader or a backhoe or something else?

I can see how a control valve that was marginal wouldn't leak when the pump was also marginal, but once a new pump isa installed the extra pressure could cause the marginal seals in the valve to fail.

If a new replacement control valve for the tractor was available, which I have my doubts about, it would probably go for somewhere between $500.00 and $1500.00 at a New Holland dealer depending on whethe it is a loader valve or a backhoe valve (more spools so more expensive). A generic loader control valve from surplus center would cost $150.00 to $400.00 and a generic backhoe control valve about twice that range.

Why do you say it needs a new valve assembly? Can't the one you have be rebuilt? The original pump probably just needed to be rebuilt as well, but dealers these days don't like to do that sort of work. They like to just replace assemblies and charge the customer. If it was me I would remove the control valve assembly and take it to a local hydraulics shop and have them rebuild it.

[The control valve is just for the 3 point lift arms. I found one at
crossscreek new for 499. But is for a 3400 but will fit and will probably not be that much less pickup power. Taking the old one
to a hydraulics shop probably would have been faster and cheaper.
Thanks

The control valve for the 3 point lift arms should be inside the lift cylinder housing under the top cover. The spool and sleeve assembly can be replaced, is that what you are referring to?

There are actually multiple part numbers for the spool and sleeve assemblies for both the 3400 and 4400, and some of them are in common between the two models, but which one you need depends on which one you have now. They are color coded based on size.

Or are you talking about a remote valve on top of the top cover? Some pictures would help us to help you.
