No the paint on the 100 series tractor was a deeper red, some call vermillion red, whereas the 01 series red had more orange color in it. Look at pictures of an 800 vs 801 and you'll see the difference.

Well it's kind of confusing. In the eyes of New Holland "Ford Gray" is the same from the 9N until the 4-cylinder 2000/4000 series. However this shade is a bit darker and more brownish starting with the 01 series of tractors. Below is a link to the New Holland paint chart plus a Ford ad for the 960, you decide.

(quoted from post at 05:56:03 05/27/18) So is the gray the same? Thanks Ed

XX1 gray is very, (in my opinion) different from the X00 gray or the X000. I would call it a slightly yellow tint. When I painted my 901 I was sure that it was way too yellow while under fluorescent light, but as soon as I got it outside it looked great. I have seen some X00 tractors that are way to dark a shade of gray. I believe that they were painted 9N gray.

Before I painted this 901 it was the X000 "white gray" except for a patch on the right fender that was apparently covered by something when it was last painted. That patch was this color that mine is now.
