# point stabilizer bar question

I have a '64 4000. I kept the stabilizer bars that came on another similar tractor. The lower brackets that bolt under the fender mount are exactly like the ones on the other tractor. they both had 4 holes for the short pin and are set to align with the lower pivot that the lower link mounts on the trumpet. The lower 3-point arms are apparently shorter than the other tractor because the stabilizer bars are too long to fit. Question is can I move the short pin in the bracket forward one hole and use it like that where it will no longer be inline with the pivot or should I try to see if I have enough room to drill new holes to fit on the implement pins? Thanks.

+1 on Fordfarmer?s reply. You?ll get all sorts of unpleasantness and prob some major league broken or bent parts if you try to do what you were talking about.
