Good afternoon, looking for a ballpark value on a Ford 771 Select O Speed. Complete frame up restoration, engine and trans checked/fixed by professional Ford mechanic. Thanks in advance for your time...

$6,000 but you will need to cast a very broad net because the pool of potential buyers is small. You will need to advertise on eBay. On Craig's list $4,000.

That is an interesting tractor. There are a couple 740's around here but never seen a 771. Pictures? Please.

See if I can get these pics posted...

On the right day of the right year if one could find the right buyer at the right time before the antique tractor market collapses any further, maybe $6,500.

Realistically, $4,500.

jfj, good attention to detail. I like the red starter and genny, and the plated lug nuts. Here is one of mine:

Were they (the 7xx in general) somewhat rare, on the 100 and 101 series?

We owned a pair of 960s, see the 900 series around.

See the 800 series around.

See a few 600 series around.

I think I have seen one 7xx at a show one time, but at the most that is many as I have ever seen live.

Yes they are a bit rare. I've seen a couple 700. Until this post I didn't know that a 701 was ever made. If I recall the 700 had the 134 engine as opposed to the 900 with the 172. Farmers weren't crazy about em. I know nothing about the 701. Anyone want to school us?? Thanks

The 701 is just a 700 with a few little upgrades and a little different sheet metal compared to the 700. Just like the 601 Workmaster is just a little upgraded from the 600

I think that by the time the '01 series came out, those folks that new that they needed a true row crop tractor also knew that they wanted as much power for pulling plows and cultivators as they could get, so not nearly as many 701's were sold as there were 901's.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that those that wanted to cultivate without needing the higher power usually went with the 501 offset model instead of the regular 701 row crop. I see a lot more 501's and 2000 offsets than I do 701's and 2000 non-offset row crops.
