Ford 592E Year?

I think I have a ford 592E. In the head is cast in the number 6050J, and under this J3167. Engine number is stamped into the block is 1547847, but the last digit 7 is perhaps a little different than the other.
Otherwise, it is written in large letters FL on the head close to number one injector.
Anyone know what year this engine is produced and has some more information about this engine?

Brian,
A 590E is the same engine as a Super Major engine, except that it has 2 more cylinders. It was used in Thames Trader trucks. A 592E was also a Fordson engine used in trucks, but I can't remember if it has 4 or 6 cylinders. This is the right forum to ask for information about it. The people on the Ford forum probably won't know much about it.

ein,
If your engine has FL cast into the head, its definitely a Fordson engine. Does it have 4 or 6 cylinders? There should be a casting number in the block behind the generator. Can you post that here?

After reading your post again, your engine number is is from a Mar. 1960 Power Major, but the FL head is from a newer Super Major. It would be the same engine that was used in Thames Trader (592E?) trucks.

I have a four cylinders engine. The casting number in the block is C10D.

How to find out from what year the head is from?

Another casting number on the top of the head is "20 I 7". I'm not sure about the letter in the middle is an I, but I think so.

ein,

C= March
10=10th
D= 1960
That is when your block was cast. I don't think that there is a casting number on the head. I think that the FL head was introduced at the same time as the Minimec fuel pump, April 1962, but I'm not sure. It may have been as late as Oct. 1963 when the New Super Major came out.
