I need help to indentify this Fordson 4 cyl.diesel head and simms pump. I acquired this engine from a co-worker who needed to free up some space in his garage. This engine powered a air compressor for jack hammmers. He has had it since 1960. He had the block rebuilt (new pistons and sleeves) and replaced 6 valves with new ones. Problem was during reassembly he accidently cut the head gasket between the cylinders 1 and 2 and did not properly torque the head bolts. Four middle bolts where loose when i disassembled the head. Now the bad news.....My barn was broken into last week and among other scrape metal i had in there they also took the Fordson block which was convienently attached to the original trailor. My barn is 1/8 mile from my house with no electric to it with to many field intrances to the barn. Here are some casting numbers if you all can help with indentifying the model Fordson this was and the year and horse power.....Regards....Tom.... I tried to post pictures but the site says i've been inactive to long...sorry , could'nt afford the internet any longer then..

Head cast numbers>>E1ADDN6050 or 6D5D with a C or a G at the end hard to read....

Simms injector is SPE4A75S 647

Have you been to the local scrap dealer to enquire and ask him to keep an eye out.Might use the barn as a kennel for a German Shepherd.

The pump is the same number as on my 1956 Fordson Major. The 1962 Super Major is P4596.

Hi your Simms equates to Ford part No DDN-993100-F. It was the last of the vacuum governor pumps. Unfortunately it is not a reliable way of telling anything alse about the engine because it would fit any E1A engine after serial 1425097 (As I understand it was factory fitted from #1578886 up but of course they got retro fitted to lots of engines.) does the rocker cover have a hole facing the manifold for the engine breather? If so its the later head whch would also SUGGEST the later engine either Power Major or Super Major but it is only suggest as a lot of these old Fordsons have been inter changed over the years. Hope this helps a bit. MTF

I have contacted several scrape yards about this engine and yes, the valve cover has a grommet hole in the end of it......Tom
