I have what was my dads, bought new, Dexta. It has a freeman loader on it and both have been used. The loader any more is really taking it's time to raise. I'm wondering
how difficult it is to get to get to the filter screen that filters the hydraulic pump. I have the original instruction book for it, it appears to be internal. Anyone
with knowledge in this regard and a willingness to share it would be appreciated, thanks.

To get to the filter you have to take the hydraulic top cover off and remove the hydraulic pump. The filter is a washable metal screen and I would doubt very much it is causing your problem.

I would suspect the hydraulic pump is getting a bit weak after 50+ years use. (I know I am). :0)

Thank you for the reply. It makes sense to be able to get to the filter and pump without splitting the tractor. It does leak a fair bit of oil through the cylinders of the loader, so I have to remember to add some now and then. It will still pick up a 5x5 round bale of hay such that I can move it around, that's a good 1000 pounds or so, which is somewhat impressive I think. Thanks again.
