I have a fordson power major with the raised pto. I had the drive gear and idler gear inside of the raised pto on the back go out. I am searching going on 3 weeks for these gears. The casting numbers are e7-ge-9 for the drive gear and e5-ge-9 for the idler. Any leads is greatly appreciated.

Hi it's common for them to do that, and the raised pto unit is pretty rare, not every tractor had it. Lots of them have been shipped back to England over the years it's a very expensive option guys over there want for their majors. They make big money like $800 or so on ebay sometimes. I have one here on a tractor the export guys would love to get there mitts on for a couple hundred bucks or less. then ship back with other parts to triple their money, they can whistle L.O.L.

you just got to get lucky on ebay, or in a small town wrecking yard. If you got really stuck they went to Australia on tractors to, I have a good friend over there sends me fordson e27n P6 parts here in Canada. He might know of something he lives right out in the bush where lots of these parts tractors are abandoned.
Regards Robert

Australia is the place if you can get people to part with them. I have a friend who has at least 6 complete units in his shed and have seen many laying around on scrap Majors in the paddocks. Both Major and New Performance Super Major. Made me weep and knash my teeth. :0(

There is a local place that has been helpful to me in the past; Worthington Ag Parts, 574-453-4713. Not that many Majors in the area but they are connected through out the US.

Good Luck

Not sure what a "raised" pto is. Is it one that is on the outside of the rear with the handle on it or am I missing something?
Photo?
I have a major out in the yard for parts.

Hi over the years I've had over 30 majors, This is the only tractor that's ever had one fitted, It even still has the original shaft guard that must be very rare as they get mangled or taken/fall off. To be honest if I ever sold the tractor I'd keep this unit and put a regular pto shaft back in it's place.

Sadly i'm not interested in selling it for $200. If I was it would of already gone for more than that. I paid $700 for the tractor at a farm auction, to stop it going to a wrecking yard and being stripped of the pto and nice body panels and it all getting shipped back to the U.K. I'm hoping to restore it one day
Regards Robert

Yes it is. Where the pto shaft comes out of the rear end is so low that they bolted on the adapter to raise it. I did manage to find one in Canada late yesterday. As long as it's the right one I'm all set.

Type in search for You Tube video # 20161018 115846 of a Fordson Major with raised PTO option. Raised PTO assy. starts at approx. 2 minute 28 second into video.
