Black Hawk Planter Help!

I have recently acquired a blackhawk planter, 2 row, trip style. The plates that are in it are F434. What are these for? I need plates for RR corn. These plates are to small. Does anyone have Black-hawk plates they would part with?

How about a copy of the manual? Thanks so much in advance.

I might have some, but it has been 60 yrs since we used them and not sure this is what I have. Need a picture of one to tell but I think they are blackhawk. Not a lot to know about a blackhawk planter except when you slide the shaft to change plate speed be sure to look under the box and make sure the hooks are lined up so you don't get it in 2 gears at once. If this is what I have you are welcome to them. 100 miles easst of Kansas City.

Here is a picture of one of the plates. I would gladly pay you for your plates. I live in N Michigan. Let me know. I wish I could get a copy of the manual for this planter though- I can't figure out how to attach the row markers/chains & pully. A cross reference for plates would be nice too. I have no idea what the F434 plates that came with it are for.

I hope the above plates work out for you - when I googled blackhawk planter a discussion on yesterdays truck archives was about a 1 row mule drawn blackhawk planter, well one poster had a plate list, and another said he had old plates as well.
A long shot - but thougt I would mention it.

Cast into the plate someplace close to the numbers will be the word small, medium or large and that is the seed size and that would be the same for flats or rounds. Could also say extra small or extra large. May need a good wire brushing to read it. I need to dig out a manual to make a copy of it to send with a planter that I have to deliver.

I did not see anything else stamped on the plates. What would the 36 cavity plate be used for (stamped 434)?

Anyone out there have a manual? Please help!

NoContest,
