Here is a picture of my rig doing the 'easy' stuff... some of it was over 12' tall and the whole front of the tractor would disappear... 20 years of blackberries covered in kudzu...

Looks like it did the job. I tend to get a little nervous when driving through something that I can't see through. Takes a brave man to bush hog kudzu. I'm surprised that it didn't rare up behind you and yank you right off the tractor! LOL

Chip,

I bought a used 5 ft. Big Bee rotary cutter almost 15 years ago. I've treated it like a "red-headed step-child" all of these years and it just keeps on cutting.

When I have to replace it, Big Bee will be my first choice.

This one is a few years old (the metal is significantly thicker than the new ones) and looks reasonably well made... It will probably last me as long as I need it and then some... :) Gonna have to do something with the tail wheel though... It doesn't pivot correctly and usually just gouges a concave trail behind the cutter...

I was doing the same thing a few years back when a
Black snake happened to be sunning on top of some of
the vines. He came slithering down the hood toward
me and then by my leg and over the axle and under
the bush hog. Ken Sweet

What you don't see in the picture is me with a .410 across my lap... Green snakes and Black snakes get a 'pass'... Copper Heads and Water Moccasins both get a taste of the business end of the shotgun... Have had a green snake in my lap, but none of the others... so far...

Yep... Got a Kubota dealer here that has a dozen or so new ones leaned up against the building that are for sale... Bought a bottom seal for the gearbox a couple days ago...

(quoted from post at 20:22:45 09/22/11) I broke a wrist driving thru stuff like that. Hit a stump.
I go really slow (low-range, first gear) because I have no idea what's in there... I've found some really big logs and unusually placed dirt mounds, but so far haven't done any damage by hitting 'stuff'... :D
