6-7 ft disc. Tuffline or Brown?

Im in the market for a new heavy and well made disc harrow. I need one in the 900-1100lb range. Currently im considering either a Tuffline TH series or a Brown with 9" spacing and 20" disc. Anyone know whos is better and how customer service is? Seems you get more disk for money with Brown as it weighs more but not sure if it has other weak points.

I bet that disk will cut like gang busters. I see the bearings are grease able. How many fittings on yours and how often do you need to grease them.

i have a med duty 6 1/2ft disk Altas 300 made much like the Athens disk in one of the pictues.

my disc does a good job, but with blades that large, it leaves a large furrow on the outside of each back gang.

I noitced the Athens disk in one of the pictures had an extra smaller blade on the end of each rear gang. This option would eliminate the large furrow left by the rear gang blades.

never had seen a small disk with a setup like that, must be a top quality disc.

I bought a Tufline disc once, great disc but too heavy for my small Ferguson tractor, I could pull it ok in the dirt, but at the ends it was so heavy the front of the tractor just danced around. not safe for me.

I just bought a 6 foot Brown 4 20inch blades per side It is so heavy that my MF 240 will only pull it with 4 inches of blade in ground. It is so much better built that I cannot imagine much help needed. I live 100 miles from the mfg so I expect to be able to get it serviced if needed. I recommend the Brown but I never ran a Tuffline.

Awesome info thanks. I was hoping to find someone with the new revised version. The new ones are 250lbs heavier at least in the 6 and 7 foot styles than the previous model. Does your front tires stay down when you lift it? Hopeing my Ford 3910 will handle it ok.

Ok so i just ordered a new Brown Harrow with 20" disk and 6'4 cut with 9" spacing. Should be here next week so looking forward to trying it out. I also liked the Athens alot but my local dealer is setup with Brown. I'll post back once i get to try it out.
