Anyone know if moldboards or shares are still available for AC plows? Also what the model # might be for this plow

I'm not sure, but I suspect that most moldboards were made by a single manufacturer that supplied moldboards to all the plow manufacturers.

If you can find out what manufacturer makes moldboards, they probably still have the original drawings to make new moldboards.

orionsrx,

just a thought,
before you spent a lot of money on this old plow,
unless it has family Significance.

you might try a few scrap yards, if there are any in your area.

I see plows and other equipment come into our local scrap yard all the time. Would almost make a grown man cry to see the big shreader just rip them apart.

There maybe other plows, just like this set of plows, in a fence row somewhere that the guy would like to get out of the way for scrap price and might have a good set of points, shins, wings just ready to hookup and turn some dirt.

would be worth a try, before you invest a lot in this old plow.

what size ac tractor do you have?

remember these plows are ac only plows, so they are not worth much to anyone, but a man with an ac tractor.

I have a B, a C, 2 WD's and a WD 45, getting this plow cheap and it will go great with my other snap coupler implements.

I think that plow is called the WD53. So far as I know, plow bottoms in any size are interchangeable among the various plow models. So find a junky plow with 3 good bottoms and swap them.

just a hunch, here, looks like a 275 bottom, to me. Check the back
of the moldboard, carefully, for any decals, or stampings, IIRR,
there was usually a small decal, that would ID the bottom #. It
does look like a 50 series bullet share.

Wish you luck, tried to find shares for my plow like that also, did find a supplier but they wanted 100 dollars a share and their business was closed. I have searched many places and not found a source that has them.

Setting in too much grass to actually see the front and bottom of the share but looks like a throwaway type of share from what I can see. If so then you could take a share from anything, John Deere, White, IHC and measure for length and using the torch just blow the holes in the correct spots and just use a cariage type bolt.

The only AC plow shares surrently in product are for the 387 bottom which is one of the last AC bottoms and pretty rare. ABout the only option you have is to buy the 387 share or another model share that is close to the same size and redrill the frog for the new share. I"m in the process of doing this now.

Orion, I think I got an old 3 or 4 bottom AC plow, let me look this weekend. email is open. 580-706-1315.
Ralph in OK.

Here is the plow I was thinking of. Kinda looking to sell it as a whole, not parts. If interested, can take close up pics of the MBs....email is open.

Shoup (in Illinois) probably would have the parts..
Nice folks...

I just ordered some JD parts and they arrived in just 2 days and FREE shipping ( over $200)..!!!
Shoup was nearly $50 less on each moldboard than TSC..!!

Now, that looks like it may have the 331 moldboards on it, but could be 387..
The 387 ( I feel) turns the soil better..especially in sod..
I DO know that the two different numbers do not match up when plowing together..there is always a ridge when the 331 follows the 387..

Ron..
I would get the 387 if I were buying New Moldboards..
