NH 273 plunger guides

I have a 275 and couldn't get the knives parallel so last fall we pulled the plunger and found that a couple cam followers broken off. Broke a lot less shear bolts this year. Its not bad you can probably just slide it back and leave in the bale shoot.

No... and honestly.. why try? Plungers are easy to pull on most balers provided you take them out now and then. The ones that are never out can be difficult tho. Good opportunity for you to take it out, free stuff up, put it back in spec and then it will be easy afterwards. I take mine out at least once a year to file the knives.

I agree with others. take it out.. my old 65 separate it from the arm. take out the packing plates in the shoot and away you go.. if my memory serves me..I havent done my 273 yet but from what I see about the same.. just move it slow as you shove out the shoot..

I had mine out couple of years ago. Bearings OK but the guides are worn. Worst part was getting the dogs wedged out of the way when putting it back in. I heard of a guy in Pa., Joe's I think, that has NH parts. Anybody have his phone or email?
