Help me identify this cultivator/weeder

Hello all! I rescued this red manual lift weeder-mulcher from the woods with hopes to mount it to the rear of a Farmall A after a bit of customizing/maintenance.

It is an 8-foot wide toolbar, with mounting brackets spaced at 41-inches. Part numbers are "CT 2, CT 4, CT 25 A", etc.

Anybody able to speculate who may have manufactured this implement and how it may have mounted? The lifting handle seems awkwardly placed in my mind's eye.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I'm not sure what make it is, but in horse drawn days, some of those things were mounted on carts with seats. Maybe this was originally one of those and then the cart was ditched to put in on a tractor, which might be why the angle seems all wrong.

I have a feeling you might be onto something, Tim. It being on a forecart might explain the long bolts on the mounting brackets and the lever placement/angle. It looks like the operator would have to sit exactly where a tractor's rear axle would be to operate the lift.

Thanks for your thoughts.

We call tose 'finger weeders'Does a similar job as a rotary hoe. Pretty light duty, not aggressive to use as a harrow, but works great for pre crop emergent weed control.I agree, yours was once a horse drawn implement.

Well now I'm really convinced; looks remarkably similar to this thing: https://www.flickr.com/photos/120652785@N06/13219938103/in/photostream
