Can I simply drop one bottom off my IH 314 two way Plow and make it a 2 x 14

Yes, it wont pull quite right, but will work.A 'better' way is to move each bottom rearward one set of holes. You will have to redrill the second set of holes per bottom.that will get the bottoms more centered on the frame.I did that with my 314. Pulls/acts like a 'true' 2 bottom.Pull it behind my SuperM.

Sound like you need a bigger tractor all the way around! Lol wish I was close to you you could use my 4520!

This tractor pulls it fine at 5mph and 18 inches deep a guy I custom plow for pulls 3x16 with a 2 135 white and I it?s a good match for both of us but I want to put this one on the 3020 and then I have another 3x16 two way I want to pull with this tractor

Someday I?d like to get a bigger tractor I?d really like a 50 55 or 60 series so I could have mfwd and a nice cab

I think the front holes are slotted on the shank mounts I?ll have to go look maybe that will be the next project this spring

3 of the shank/beam are slotted. 4th one is round. The holes in the main frame are round. Just unbolt the bottom from the frame, slide it toward the back. Reinstall the two bolts. Then,CAREFULLY,blow two more holes in the frame for the other two bolts.Use the bottom as a guide .Yes,you can measure and drill, but a 'firedrill' is much easier. Faster, too.

Yes,I still have the plow. Bought it and the 706 together in '84.call me if you want. I'd be glad to talk.. (970)874-3973. sorry no pics.At one time I welded some extra frame onto it and added a 4th bottom. Worked fine. 4x14s was perfect for a 95 horse turbo 706.later dropped the fourth bottom. Only last year I 'shrunk' it down to 2 bottom. However it is intact and easily 'converted' back to 3 bottom. It will probably never again be used as a 4 bottom as I now have bigger(1256;1456) tractors(and plows).Steve

I like to go deeper and a little faster than bigger and slower . I use to have a 5x16 semi mount it was fine in stubble but in sod it was just to big 2nd and 3rd gear wide open and a full stack of weight to hold the front down and that was with 15.5.38 tires so the same speed as first and second now that I'm running the 480.80.38 rubber . I will go inspect the plow tomorrow and see what it looks like . I appreciate the offer if I can't figure it out I may just call you

Ya the holy grail of jd 4455 mfwd with the 15sp power shift is on my wish list- Santa are you listening lol

I won?t be buying another tractor any time soon I just can?t justify the code right now maybe If a good paying job comes a long

My uncle had a 4520 for the big tractor for a lot years it had a powershift and a cab with two half doors

18? seems awfully deep for a moldboard plow. When I was plowing about 8? deep was enough. Would be bringing up clay any deeper.
