I found this in my grandpa's shed and cleaned it up. What is it? Was it used on a tractor, horses or by hand. Any information I would appreciate.

Planter for corn and beans Probably could be horse
or tractor drawn probably could plant a lot of
different seed depending on the seed plate

Does it look like its all there, other than possible handles? That press wheel should be in back, but the opener looks like it points towards the wheel, AND im thinking there should be another wheel at the other end.

It could be a corn planter unit, which would bolt on to something and be pulled by a horse or tractor. A chain would go to some sort of wheel out
front of it.

More likely it is a garden seed planter, and might have had a larger drive wheel in front, and some handles behind like plow handles. A chain
would go from the gear to the big drive wheel that isn't there.

What does the inside bottom of the can look like, if we would see the seed plate that would help on which it is.

Unfortunately when I try to search google, a lot of similar looking planters come up, but the word 'standard' is so generic it doesn't find that
particular brand!

Would also be interesting to see what the lever and unusual dogged wheel thingie is on the right side of it, either for hill dropping corn or setting special stuff for garden seeds. Can't really see much of any of the mechanisms, just different angles of the seed can.

If you look up 'antique planet jr' you will find that brand of what I think it is, only yours is a 'Standard'.
