went over to a friends farm shopping tonight, he is a manager for a large parts supplier is getting out of the farming and gone to renting out his hay and grain farm. he has a few pieces he's selling off (cleaning up the yard) and looked at a ford 13' cultivator with harrows and an avedex applicator mounted on it. his dad bought the cultivator from a local ford dealership that sold both vehicales and farm equipment back in the day. it has 2" spikes on it and he also has the sweeps for it. I have a couple of questions on it, did ford actually build these or had some one else build them and paint them ford colours and decals?

anyone here know what model this is? and anyone here have one??

I also posted this over in the ford forum and fordfarmer told me it was made by glencoe, model 208, using that #, was able to find some online.

That was made by Glencoe, in the town of the same name,in Minnesota. They were quite a improvement over a John Deere CC or a CCA. The ones Glencoe sold with their name on it, were a Green !!

thanks farmall, was able to find a bunch on google, as you said they look identical but with green paint, I will mainly be using this with sweeps for weeding.

That?s because a John Deere cc came out in the unsytled two cylinder days if you want to compare it to a John Deere at least use one that?s the same type of tool

(quoted from post at 22:24:57 05/24/18) I?d like to find a applicator like that would sure be handy
when I get it home and cleaned up i'll carefully take it off and ship it to you sv. , I want to use the cultivator for weeding, don't use chemicals on the field, just manure, and cultivate for weed control. this applicator has a 12 volt electric motor hooked to a chain drive to feed the avadex down the tubes, I will take a bunch of pics after I get it home and cleaned up before I dismantle it.

All i was trying to say, is my dad had a nice CC John Deere field cultivator, that we switched over to hyd lift, then about 10-15yrs later Glencoe came, with their three rank cultivator, and it gave a little more clearence, less plugging, for what ever reason we didn't buy the Glencoe, just tryed it out. I was just a kid when this all happened.

(quoted from post at 05:22:38 05/25/18) I had a 208 it was a good field cultivator for its time.
wayne what tractor did you pull your 208 with? hp? i'm planning on pulling it with my mm m5 around 70 hp. will be using it mainly for weed control, going to try and run around 3" deep just deep enough to lift the weeds out to the top to dry and die in the sun.

Mine was a 18' with wings. I pulled it with an 8600 Ford about a 110 HP. We ran it some over 5 mph
depending on field conditions.

You?ll pull it fine I pull a 14 foot ih vibra Shank as deep as it?ll
go with a 14 foot 620 ih press drill at 5.5 mph in 6th gear on
my 4020 dynoed at 112 hp at 540 rpm pto

going by what your pulling sv. I should have no problem pulling along at only 3" deep at 5mph. now my next question should I leave the harrows on for weeding (want the weeds laying on top to dry) or maybe take them off for weeding and put them back on for final seed bed preparation?

I think i would leave them on. They might shake some dirt out of the roots and leave them lay on
top. Check and see if the harrows can be lifted up in the mounts somewheres,

will do wayne, as you can see from the pics it's been sitting for a long time with all the hay grown up around it, when we get it pulled out and can get a clear look at it I will have a lot better idea how it all works. I never thought of the tines on the harrows rolling the weed plants and shaking the dirt off them, would end up with an even better kill on the weeds.

I had both a 13 and a 15 ft model, the 13 foot was a wheel carried and 15 ft was 3 point hitch model. I did not like them that wide and took the wings off to get down to a 10.5' model and used only 7' sweeps. And Glenco made them under their name, Case and Ford but for Ford they had a different spring setup on that to my estimation was way better than they used on the other models and would dig harder soil without the shovel riding over the top. They had one bad point on pluging as the 2 shanks on the front bar were spaced too close together to let trash through. My old JD CC field cultivator did better on that part. A way to stop that pluging and I think they had a part remidy for that in that it was a short 4th bar mounted on the toung on the wheel carried model that you mounted one of the shanks forward on and it would eliminate that pluging. I don't think that worked with the 3 point tho. Cannot tell in picture if a 3 point or wheel carried model. But I can see that it has the heavier down pressure springs that Ford used but they did not put on the Glenco or Case version. And stick to max 4.5 mph to hard on shanks to go faster if no rocks then slower. And yes a 208 model. Still have the books. but not the units as I have not farmed for several years. And a Ford 4000 with the 38" rear wheels was about righe for it in the narrowest setting it could be made and that is the 10.5' width.

thank you for the help Leroy, this is a 13' wheel mount like yours, (cylinder is on another implement) but I do have a spare cylinder for it. I did notice how close tighter the 2 outside front shanks where and will try it like it is. if it do's plug will remove or like you said move it to another location, one of the two and give it a try like that.
