john deere 535 roll baler

OOPS I don't know what I accidentally touch on keyboard to cause it to "submit" my uncompleted post.

If there's zero pressure on the gauge when gate is closed then I suspect a faulty tensioning valve or tension cylinder. One can remove bottom hose on tension cylinder on each side, move control valve lever direction to close to see if oil exits open cylinder port. If oil(more than a few drops) exits open port then cylinder needs a seal kit installed

Normally when gate is closed pressure on gauge is low then pressure rises to a set pressure as hay enters baler.

Did you check tension cylinders for internal leakage or you just going to HOPE that your balers problem???????

im thinking it might be the tractor talked to john deere they said to check the orings in the tension adjuster box and there fine to would the ends on the hydraulic hose be bad causeing it when you disconnect them from tractor oil sprays out of them

If oil doesn't leak out at breakaway coupler with baler hoses attached then male couplers won't be the problem BUT leaking male tips when disconnected would keep one from performing diagnostic test of closing tailgate then disconnect couplers from tractor then bale a bale to see if pressure will build up on baler gauge.
