Old Running Gear Tie Rods

Hello All,

I have an old lighter duty running gear (5 lug wheels, assuming 6 ton?) and I need to get tie rod ends and adjusting sleeves for it. I believe it's either an Electric Wheel or a David Bradley and I cannot for the life of me find any parts for it. I've looked all over the unit and cannot find a single tag or anything that could possibly identify it. I've tried contacting balster's equipment but they are out of business now (however still have a maintained website?).

I know that the tie rod assembly for each side of the steering axle is about 28 inches long, each tie rod end is male with 11/16" UNF threads and the ball stud has 7/16" UNF threads. They seem very standard or "catalog" if you will but cannot find anything. Was just at a dealership yesterday and he had one tie rod end, but of course no part number to trace it down or anything. I can't find anything with Moog or Spicer either; they both want a part number or don't have the dimensions that I need as of yet.

Please help.

Thanks.

It sounds like the ones on a 71 chevy pickup idler arm. I'll check the ones I have. What size is it at the thick part of the taper?

David Bradley 5 lug was either a 4 ton or a 5 ton model. When they got to a heavier unit it was a 6 ton on 6 lug. Is youts a pressed steel frame or a channel iron frame? and the 4-5 ton were like 62.5 to 66" wheel tread with the 6 ton being a 72" wheel tread. To wide for most beds of the day.

I was searching for tie rod parts for a JD430, heavier than stock. My NAPA dealer had a book where they could order most combinations of ends and tie rods.

Sounds like a common tie rod end. Take one to a NAPA store. A good parts guy can match it.No computer needed.

I got a Electric Wheel Co, running gear, and that's got a steel tag on the rear, but what it says on their, not sure

The frame is a channel iron frame and the wheel tread is definitely around the 62.5" to 66" mark (only because I checked my toe-in).
